Welllll.....although this horse has been dead for awhile...I'll still beat on it a little bit. The blue Rogue sticker was way right of center. Not the biggest deal....but I had to break out the measuring tape and pencil and re-seat it in the middle. Of course then the sticker wasn't quite as sticky and I had to break out the needle and super glue to re-attach it in the center. Woooof. So for that ordeal, I would have given the bar 4.5. But besides that....bar is immaculate. I live less that 2 mi. from Rogue H.Q....so I pick all my gear up. Which is optimal obv to avoid shipping costs AND any potential damage from shipping. #Spoiled. But powdercoat is great. Mid to low level grittyness and prippyness....but really good and well done for a bar like this. I need a low weight bar for grip work....so this guy is perfect for me. Overall great bar. I use Proloc magnetic collars....normal size that I ordered directly from them. Their normal collars actually work on regular barbell sleeves AND specialty bar sleeves. There's a pro-tip for you today...haha. I really enjoy all my Rogue stuff and the fact it's made in the USA and I can pick it up. Enjoy!

I've had the Stubby Axle for just under eight years now. I bought it to vary my grip training, doing rows and tricep presses with different-sized bars. Aside from the powder coating rubbing off over the years, it's been great. Despite dropping it a few times, it hasn't bent. I recently bought the SML-2 Lite Squat Stand, which I love. However, the Axle isn't rackable on the stand. I know there's a full-size Axle, but it's too wide for my workout room. If Rogue ever makes an intermediate version that's rackable and around 70" wide, I will definitely buy a new Axle. I really appreciate that Rogue is an American company that employs American workers instead of outsourcing products. I'm very impressed that they maintain competitive prices while doing this.

Item arrived unprotected in a plain cardboard box. Opened it up and already found chips on collar. Disappointing considering the quality and care that goes into shipping other rogue products.

Shipped in a box without any wrap or protection. Just in the box, nothing else. Obviously arrived with chips etc that are just cosmetic. Just don’t expect to have that on a brand new item. Never had this issue before with all the other things I have purchased form Rogue. Again, not that big of a deal, just disappointing for new item.

I bought this a month ago and love the bar. It was delivered fast, extremely well packaged and great quality.

This is a lightweight bar that is easy to handle and store. However, standard collars do not work on this bar, so you also have to purchase the speciality collars. The paint does scratch off with usage, as evident by some flaking off during delivery.

Love using this bar for most if not all things. It’s a forearm killer. Just wish I knew the max capacity that it would hold without damage.

The sleeve diameter on the Stubby barbell is only 1.9", while other commercial gyms use 1.96" sleeves. So, you can't use the same collars. The idea of having to buy Rogue-specific collars is very inconvenient. Also, due to the shortened (stubby) length, you cannot rack it anywhere and thus cannot use it for squats or bench press. The like the grip and handling of it, but just wish it was more compatible with my gym.
